Sewerage

Clonakilty’s sewerage system is a combined system. Secondary treatment is discharged into the estuary following treatment from the plant. The existing sewerage treatment plant was constructed in 1988 and the town council has commissioned a report by a group of consultants in order to ensure that the town is served into the future by a sewerage system of proper capacity. The consultants will make recommendations that will then guide any future upgrading of the current sewerage system.
