Roads & Transportation - Introduction

 Clonakilty Town Council is responsible for the management and maintenance of all the streets and non-national roadways in its jurisdiction. This includes ensuring that traffic can move freely and safely through the town. Therefore, Clonakilty Town Council carries out regular maintenance to the roads in the town and the Town’s Traffic / Litter Warden enforces parking laws, thus ensuring that traffic is not impeded by improper or careless parking.

The council also ensures that the town is served by proper pedestrian safety and traffic management devices, such as pedestrian crossings and traffic calming, thereby ensuring that the town is safe for both motorists and pedestrians.
