Local Area Plan
Cork County Council publishes a local area plan for the Clonakilty Environs every five years. The current local area plan was published in 2003 with a second draft in early 2006 and is due to for replacement in 2009. While this plan does not affect the planning authority area of Clonakilty Town Council, it may affect any developments on the outskirts of Clonakilty Town Council’s boundaries.
A development may be proposed close to an infrastructure development planned by Cork County Council or come close to an area zoned for a different use in the county council’s area. A copy of the local area plan for the Clonakilty Environs can be viewed at the Town Council’s offices or at the County Council offices in the Old Mill building on Kent Street, Clonakilty. This plan may also be purchased from Cork County Council.
