Fair Trade

Clonakilty was declared Ireland’s first official Fairtrade Town on 22ND September 2003. This honour was achieved as a result of the work of the small committee, combined with the co-operation and goodwill of the business people and consumers of the town, who made the conscious decision to stock, serve and purchase Fairtrade products wherever possible, as well as many local organisations, including Clonakilty Town Council.
